First Friday and the Sacred Heart
The month of June is devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Devotion to the Sacred Heart recalls the infinite love of our Savior who died on the cross for all, even to the point of having his heart pierced. It is also the reason why we hold First Friday adoration of the Eucharist. As Jesus promised St. Margaret Mary, those who are devoted to the Eucharist, especially on First Fridays, will receive the excessive mercy of His Heart and experience His all-powerful love.
Please make an extra effort to attend Mass and receive Holy Communion on the First Friday of each month (9:00 AM Mass at St. Mary, June 4 this month). Also join us after Mass for a Breakfast Potluck on First Fridays.
Also stop by the Church to spend some time in prayer before the Eucharist on First Friday, as we have 24-hours of adoration through the day and night. If you have never made a visit, please stop by to do so, even if for a short time. And if you have never made a Holy Hour, consider spending an hour with our Lord Jesus.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus
Friday June 11 is the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. A chance to reflect on how the Sacred Heart of Jesus - present on earth in the Blessed Sacrament - is the human manifestation of God's Love for men. Have you Enthroned your home to the Sacred Heart?
To celebrate this "World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests" and the end of the "Year of the Priest", join us on Thurs. June 10 for a 6:30 PM Mass at St. Joseph, Greenwood, which will be followed by special prayers for priests. Please pray for all priests to be faithful in following Christ, and also pray for vocations to the priesthood and our seminarians.

Planned Giving Seminar
Will you leave a legacy? Have you written your will? Is it updated? While none of us likes to think about the end of our lives, planning ahead can be a great gift to our families, and an opportunity to leave a legacy through charitable giving. But do you know the best ways to pass on your estate, and what will cost you and your heirs the least in taxes? Perhaps you're worried about the best ways to protect your investments in a down market? Or are you just confused by the terminology and options, from a durable power of attorney to a named beneficiary on accounts?
The Diocesan Office of Planned Giving will sponsor a Planned Giving Seminar on Tues. June 29, 7:00-8:00 PM at the St. Mary Education Center. These and many more of your questions will be answered by Les Mach of Wahoo (443-6180, les-mach@cdolinc.net). Please note that Les and the Diocese are not selling anything, but simply provide this service to our parishes to help you leave the best legacy possible. Charity and Stewardship Appeal
Many thanks to all who have been so generous in their gifts and pledges to this year's Charity and Stewardship Appeal (DDP). This year's theme Glorify the Lord with Me (Psalm 34), is a reminder of how we together work to build the Kingdom of God by sharing the gifts the Lord has given us. St. Mary parish has reached 125% of its goal - thank you, but we have the participation of only 36% of families and are still short of what was pledged last year. St. Joseph has 78% of its goal, with only 27% of families - and any shortfall will have to come from parish funds. Everyone can still join in this annual Diocesan appeal which supports 16 different ministries and apostolates in the Lincoln diocese, as well as supporting our parishes. Thank you for your generosity.
Special thanks to our CSA chairs, Ryan & Joanna Torpy and Kevin & Dian Hofferber for all their time and efforts.
